The standing repertoire includes world musical theatre masterpieces, Russian classics, and outstanding works of composers of Tatarstan. The stage is equipped with the cutting edge technologies that enable to create special effects and sophisticated scenography.
Different major world scale event are taking place in the theatre annually: International Opera Festival named after Fyodor Shalyapin in February and International Festival of Classic Ballet named after Rudolf Nuriyev in May.
Laureates of international competitions, leading artists of the world ballet and opera come on stage of the theatre. According to the special regulation of the theatre, no play is staged with the same cast of artists. There is no ordinary play in the opera and ballet theatre either — each performance is a premiere and every artist has endless opportunities to discover and express new sides of their talent.
