The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the biggest museums of the Volga Region. Located in a former hotel courtyard, the museum occupies nearly a whole block. The museum houses some 800,000 valuable exhibits dating from different eras, including the carriage of the Russian Impress Ekaterina II. You can find its replica in the Baumana Street, which is also one of the well known monuments of the city. Equally valuable are the collections of the ancient coins, things dated back to the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Age from the excavations in the Ananyinskiy burial ground, manuscripts, and belongings of the outstanding Tatar artists.
The up-to-date technologies of the museum enable adults and children to travel to the different eras and witness the history through their own eyes. The guided excursions are available in English, Tatar, and Russian.
The museum is easily accessible from every part of Kazan, as it is located in the center of the city by the Kremlin.
You can buy the tickets in person when visiting the museum. An additional fee to get a right to take pictures and film is established.
